J. David Allen

 
 

 

Dr. Allen is the founder and Senior and Managing Partner of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Associates, with eight offices throughout the Metropolitan Atlanta area and Athens, Georgia.  He has been a member of the Department of Surgery at the Emory School of Medicine and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery since 1983.  He was president of the Georgia Dental Association, the DeKalb unit of The American Cancer Society, Southeastern Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.  He has also been a member of the American Dental Association since 1975. 
 
Dr. Allen was recently elected to be the Chairman of the statewide Georgia Chamber of Commerce for 2007 and is also on their Board.  Dr. Allen attended Emory College and obtained his D.D.S. from Emory University School of Dentistry.  Dr. Allen served in the Marine Corps prior to founding his own practice in 1975.  Dr. Allen has been a member of the Board of Governors of the Emory Alumni Association, a past president of the Alumni Association of the Emory University School of Dentistry, and served as an Alumni Trustee.  He is currently a member of the Emory University Board of Trustees and a term Trustee on the Emory University Board of Trustees.  He is a Director of the Emory Healthcare Board, the Emory Children’s Center Board, and the Emory Clinic.  Dr. Allen is also a Trustee of the Woodruff Health Sciences Center Board and was a member of the Egleston Children’s Hospital Board of Directors.  He is a member of the Atlanta Rotary Club.
