Marietta "Martie" Edmunds Zakas
Marietta "Martie" Edmunds Zakas has more than 27 years of financial and business experience. She began her career as an investment broker at Morgan Stanley and held positions in strategic management, finance and corporate development at Holiday Inn Worldwide. From 1993 to 2000, Zakas held positions of increasing responsibility at Equifax, including serving as Corporate Vice President, Director of Investor Relations, Treasurer and Corporate Secretary. She served in various positions at Russell Corporation from 2001 to 2006, culminating in her role as Corporate Vice President, Chief of Staff, Business Development and Treasurer. She has served in her current role as Senior Vice President of Strategy, Corporate Development and Communications at Mueller Water Products since 2006.
Zakas serves on the board of The Westminster Schools and has served on the boards of such organizations asRandolph College, Berkeley Divinity School of Yale University, Georgia Trust, All Saints’ Child Care Center and St. Jude’s Recovery Center. A member of the Junior Leagues of New York and Atlanta, she also serves as a vestry member and finance committee chair at All Saint’s Episcopal Church. She was named a 2000 Diva in Business-to-Business magazine.
Zakas earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics and Economics from Randolph-Macon Woman’s College, a Juris Doctor from the University of Virginia School of Law, and aMasterof Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia Darden School of Business.
