Mr. Diaz was born in Cuba and moved to the United States as a child.  Mr. Diaz has spent his entire career with Diaz Foods, where he has served as President and Chief Executive Officer since 1980.  He has been recognized both locally and nationally as one of the outstanding Hispanic entrepreneurs in the United States.
 

Mr. Diaz is currently active on several boards of directors, including Director, Inc., the Alliance Theatre, Egleston/Scottish Rite Hospital, the Latin American Association, the Carter Center, and Zoo Atlanta.  In addition, he was a founding director of United Americas Bank, Atlanta, a $160 million asset community bank focused on the Hispanic community, where he still serves.  He has also served on the boards of the Atlanta Arts Festival, UNICEF, the American Cancer Society (DeKalb), and the Atlanta Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  He received the National Adelante Award in 1996 and was recognized with the Georgia Business of the Year Award in 1995.
